disgusting!

i personally don't like jessica simpson. nothing about her at all. i've always hated her music, her media personality, image, the fact that she dated john mayer...ok fine, not the last one :)

but i came across this image earlier today and i am absolutely appalled.

i don't know much about jessica simpson, but i do know this much. JESSICA SIMPSON IS NOT FAT!

its absolutely ludicrous that she is being painted that way in he media! if people think she's fat then i must be a frikking elephant in the eyes of the world! how do you expect girls to have confidence in who they are if we keep setting the bar so unrealistically high!

this is whats wrong with the world today. media images of perfection are the norm. this perfection is in no way real! but its broadcasted across the globe infiltrating the minds of young girls and fucking them up for the rest of their lives! women will never be 100% confident and happy with who they are as a person because we're brainwashed into thinking that anything beyond was is accepted by the media is UGLY AND FAT!

i am furious!

for real

for an apology to be considered genuine, you should never make excuses. don't try to explain why you did what you did or why things turned out the way they did. just say you're sorry with no explanation.

friendship should never be a one-way street

I should only make the effort, where my effort is warranted.

I don't know for sure if warranted is the right word to be using - but it just seemed to fit. there's certain people who i do make an effort to keep in touch with and invite out when i'm out...but i've realized that they don't make the same effort back. when the get the invite from me, they do come out and we have a good time and all that...but i don't get any invites out from them.

sometimes i think people can be territorial of their friends, and they don't want a newbie to come into an existing crew and become friends with their friends...that could be a reason. maybe they're not really all that outgoing, so them extending the invite out to me would be rare. maybe they don't think i would mesh with their friends...or maybe they don't want me to mesh with their friends. i don't know...but i realized that i don't like it when the effort it that lobsided...even when its a friendship.

Oh Canada.

I love Canada, I really do. I’ve visited a lot of other countries, and although they’re nice to vacation in, I’m happy to be back in Canada when my vacation is over.

However – I must admit…I don’t get this whole French/Canadian bilingual thing. What irritates me is that the whole country adjusts to make the Frenchies feel more comfortable. We ensure that all labels on everything are translated into French, road signs, official documentation…there’s even requirements for call centers to have a certain number of French speaking people on hand AND we’re forced to learn French from grade 4 to grade 9 with no real usage for it what so ever.

But when in Quebec, none of the road signs are translated into English, I’ve been in situations where the staff at a restaurant or even at a hotel don’t speak any English AND I’ve gotten a speeding ticket there and there was no translation on the ticket what so ever.

So why do we allow the French to so richly preserve their culture and we don’t apply the same rules to everyone else? There’s a massive Chinese population in Canada…so to make things easier for them, why not translate everything into Mandarin as well? Everyone who migrates to Canada is forced to adjust. Learn how to speak and read the language, yet we allow the Frenchies to continue in their ways and accommodate them as well. I get the whole want and desire around preserving a language, traditions and culture – I get it. But I don’t think its fair to make an entire country put in effort to preserve a language, traditions and culture that is alien to most. And if we were to make that effort for anyone, shouldn’t it be the Native Indians – who we robbed of their land anyways? Just a thought…

I have nothing personal again Quebec or anyone who lives in that province – I just think the rest of Canada has accommodated to them way too much. If they want to become their own country, then maybe they should go back to France. If they’re not happy about the rules and regulations that govern the country that they live in, nobody is forcing them to stay…they can go back to where they feel more comfortable.

I have beef with Canada for letting them get their way for so long. For making the rest of the country accommodate their needs and demands to make things more comfortable for them.

what's better

to always think the best of someone
or
to always think the worst of someone?

i am who i am

i've come to a point where i just can't be bothered.

i'm sick of going through pictures and analyzing them to see which ones i look the thinnest in, or which one makes me look the best.

what you see is what you get. i'm not the skinniest or prettiest girl out there, but i'm ok with that.

one of these days

one of these days, i'll wake up and you won't be there
i'll need you
but you won't pick up

i want things to change
i need things to change

i need answers to my questions
either way we both need to move on
whether its together or not

the sooner the better
but its out of our hands
so i sit here and wait
to see if you'll change.
